Mechanism of Action: Trientine is a chelating agent that acts due to a dual mechanism of action: primarily by promoting urinary copper excretion and to a lesser extent by reducing copper absorption from the gastrointestinal tract (and thus promoting fecal copper excretion). Indications Treatment of patients with Wilson’s disease who are intolerant of penicillamine Dosage Form and strength: Capsule: 250 mg Supplied as one bottle containing 100 capsules. Administration SYPPER should be administered orally on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals and at least 1 hour apart from any drug especially antacids.
